Input: When i think about having input as a strength i think about the curiosity i have about the world i live in. I'm the type of person who wants to know how things work and why they work. My input strength has shown more now that i'm in college since there are is so many information out everything on this campus. To me, this university is its on encyclopedia waiting to be read. There was a time when i was always listing to National Pubic radio just to gain information. There were many shows on NPR that fueled my need to gain information.
Belief: When i finished taking the strengths quest test i was very surprised that Belief was my second strength. But as i began to think about for the next couple of weeks it began to fit. I do have certain core values that are unchanging. I am a very strong advocate for fairness and equality. I really dislike when people have an unfair advantage over others. I also strongly believe in people pursing their dreams and aspirations. whether it be by enrolling in college or any other method. i think everyone should have the freedom to do what they are passionate about.
Context: This strength is the one that makes the most sense to me. I love learning about history and the different people in the past who have made an impact on our future. I feel like history is the window into tomorrow. One place i love going to is on the third floor of the library. There are photographs of URI from way back in the 40's. The first time i wen there i was awestruck, and every time i go there i experience the same emotion. Being able to look at the the University i go to from past to future is an opportunity i cherish every time I'm in the library.
Learner: Having learner as a strength is an amazing thing. It means have a great desire to learn and i also want to continuously improve. I strive to out do myself at all times. Not only in my academics, but also when it comes to my hobbies, playing soccer and playing the drums. In my academics not only do i strive to learn more, i appreciate the process of learning. The love for my HDF FLITE class is an awesome example of how i enjoy the process of learning rather than the outcome. the way that class is structured for the students to learn is one that should be modeled by other classes.
Arranger: I am very happy i was able to use this strength and put on display in a major way. I was able to be part of a panel for a college prep workshop. all the members on the panel and i were able to access all our resources and use it for maximum productivity.
